Here in Santa Maria, which lies 22 kms. north of Manila, we are very proud to inform you of the tourist destinations that are surely worth your while. For the religious ones, we invite you to visit the La Inmaculada Concepcion Church, an 18th century old church. The patron saint, Immaculate Concepcion, is believed to be miraculous and saved the community from a possible bloody encounters between the Filipino guerillas and Japanese soldiers during the World War II. We also have the Diocesan Shrine of the Mother of the Eucharist and Grace which was built through the inspiration and miracle of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Healing masses at 12:00 noon of every Saturdays of the month are celebrated in this Church. Testimonies from the faithfuls are proofs of the healing power of our Lord Almighty through Mother Mary. Proclaimed national artist Jose Corazon de Jesus (Hari ng Balagtasan) and Francisco Santiago (Ama ng Kundiman) hailed from Santa Maria.
